Day 28 Triacastela to Sarria

Had to make a choice as to what direction to go. The long route was 7 km longer but flat. The shorter route had a long climb. I took the climb.

The scenery was beautiful. The climb was hard at times. But well worth it.

Came across this chapel at a farm. Very cool. Would loved finding more of the history of it

At about halfway to Sarria I came across this outdoor cafe. You could have anything you wanted for free or make a donation. Ale from Iran was the host and we had a good conversation. Speaks better English than Spanish

Walking from there I came across cows and horses. Three times there two guys riding horses. They were in uniforms and I think they were inspecting the Camino

The scenery was great and so many architectural sights. Can’t post them all. Takes too long to download

Got to Sarria at about 12:30 and found Tetsu and Yung and had lunch with them. There were going to the next town.

Met Diego, Jimmy, with a whole group and had dinner with them. Had a lot of fun. I was the old man

Diego was trying to teach us the song Aia, Aia, Aiaa, but we weren’t getting it. Really nice guy.

  1. Joe, happy Easter. So enjoying reading your blog although I haven’t commented much. Saw Patty Fri at yoga and she started to tell me about your weeping the other day (and her too when she talked on the phone with you). I told her I had just read that post. I think we all have some type of Camino moment(s) and it’s different for each of us.
Enjoy these last few days. Yes, more crowded, but that’s ok.
    Love your photos..and descriptions.

  2. Happy Easter Joe. As was said in church today. “ He has risen”.. “He has risen indeed.”.
Love your pics in this post. The scenery IS really beautiful! So much for you to take in and experience. What a fun concept. Free( no prices). But leave a donation. There are a few Mpls restaurants that operate with those rules too. Maybe they picked up that concept from El Camino journeys.

Take care. The end is now in sight.
You have made this long journey… one step at a time. Moving forward.

  3. Hi Joe, You must be near the end of your journey. What is the total distance?
I wonder if you will not know the full meaning of this experience until you are back home and for sometime. So much to process. What a feeling of endurance and accomplishment.
