4-19-22. Got in late last night to Lisbon. Explored Lisbon all day. Had a great local Portuguese dinner with all different fish and shrimp with potato. Good local wine. Got to get up early to go to Porto where we will start the Camino.

4-20-2022

To the train to Porto at12:00 and Got There about 3:00 pm. Went directly to the Cathedral to get our Camino passport for the stamps we collect each day.

4-21-2022 Porto

Got out about 9:00 am to tour Porto. Went to the visitor bureau to pick up map. Started by going to the river. Stopped at the Porto Wine Museum and learned a lot about the Douro valley. Then we walked across the bridge to sample Port wines. All were very good. Took the gondola up the hill, walked back over the bridge and then back to our room. Took a nice nap. Ready for dinner

4-22-2022 Porto to Vila do Conde

Started our day at 7:15 am and caught the subway to get out of town. It was supposed to rain all day but it didn’t. The weather was perfect 50 to 55 slight breeze.

Walked along the beach the whole way. Beautiful views and sound of the ocean was special

Did 14 miles and felt every mile in our legs. Had a great Pilgrim dinner and now ready for bed. 15miles tomorrow

4-23-2022 Vila do Condo to Esposende

This was a great day! It was supposed to rain all day but all we got was a sprinkle. Walked along the coast for a little over 15 miles. Legs still sore. Had a coffee break on the ocean.

4-24-2022 Esposende to Viana do Castelo

Left our hotel and walked through town. We started to go inland and that’s when things started to get a little harder.

We had climbed for a long time with a couple from the UK and got to a small village. Kevin and I decided to get coffee and found this unique coffee shop an d bar. Great time to rest

When we were done with coffee we came to this road with flowers laid in the middle of the road. It was a celebration for Easter. These flowers ran for almost two kilometers! Unbelievable

This little girl was in front of church with a bunch of other angels. She loved to pose for us.

It was also the 100 year anniversary of independence and they fired off fireworks all day.

The scenery was beautiful but the paths were single path wet and muddy. Sooo steep. Glad to get off the mountain

Needed to say a prayer of thanks for getting off the mountain

4-25-2022 Viana do Castillo to Vila Praia de Anchora

Got started at about 8:30 and didn’t know what the weather was going to do. Walked through town and then a mixture of areas.

Down to a part of town that had over hanging flowers to then seeing this horse in a small yard eating the grass. Must have been their lawn mower. Then moved by the ocean
